Strong asymptotics in Lagrange interpolation with equidistant nodes

In this paper we prove three conjectures of Revers on Lagrange interpolation for f_λ(t)=|t|^λ,λ>0, at equidistant nodes. In particular, we describe the rate of divergence of the Lagrange interpolants L_N( f_λ,t) for 0<|t|<1, and discuss their convergence at t=0. We also establish an asymptotic relation for max_|t|1| |t|^λ−L_N( f_λ,t)|. The proofs are based on strong asymptotics for |t|^λ−L_N( f_λ,t), 0|t|<1.

An algorithm for decomposing a polynomial system into normal ascending sets

We present an algorithm to decompose a polynomial system into a finite set of normal ascending sets such that the set of the zeros of the polynomial system is the union of the sets of the regular zeros of the normal ascending sets.If the polynomial system is zero dimensional,the set of the zeros of the polynomials is the union of the sets of the zeros of the normal ascending sets.     

Some inequalities for characteristic functions. II

Recently we established Matysiak and Szablowski's conjecture [V. Matysiak, P.J. Szablowski, Theory Probab. Appl. 45 (2001) 711-713] about a lower bound of real-valued characteristic functions. In this paper, applying an alternative approach we are able to give explicitly the ranges of argument for which the obtained inequalities hold true for general characteristic functions.     

Christoffel functions and mean convergence for Lagrange interpolation for exponential weights

For exponential weights, a necessary condition of weighted mean convergence for Lagrange interpolation is given.     

On interpolation by radial polynomials

A lemma of Micchelli's, concerning radial polynomials and weighted sums of point evaluations, is shown to hold for arbitrary linear functionals, as is Schaback's more recent extension of this lemma and Schaback's result concerning interpolation by radial polynomials. In this paper, we study the explicit representation and convergence of （0, 1;0）-interpolation on infisite interval, which means to determine a polynomial of degree ≤ 3n - 2 when the function values areprescribed at two set of points namely the zeros of Hn（x） and H′n （x） and the first derivatives at the zerosof H′n（x）.
